CD5.051 Puls DC/DC Converters

PULS CD5.051 is a power supply unit designed for DIN rail mounting, featuring an aluminium housing with dimensions of W32mm x H124mm x D102mm. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -25 to +70°C and has a net width of 32 mm. The unit consumes 2.6A current at a 24Vdc input for a full 5Vdc output at 10A, with a peak inrush current of 1.6A. It offers an efficiency of 0.815 at 5.1Vdc 10A input and is protected by an IP20 degree of protection. The CD5.051 includes a 420ms start-up delay, a 300ms rise time at nominal input with a constant full current load and 0mF load capacitance, and a 350ms rise time with an 8mF load capacitance. It features output overvoltage protection, overload protection, no-load and short-circuit protection with a short-circuit current of min. 12A to max. 20A, over-temperature protection with automatic restart, and allows for series/parallel operation for increased output power or redundancy. The unit is resistant to back-feeding loads up to 5.6V, includes reverse polarity protection, and has a power dissipation/loss of 11.5W at a 24Vdc input with a 5.1V output load at 10A. The output stage capacitance is 16000 µF, with a ripple of 50mVpp across 20Hz to 20MHz at 50Ω. It functions as a power supply unit or DC/DC-converter with a 20% power reserve, belonging to the CD-series and designed with galvanic isolation and screw-clamp connections. The supply voltage ranges from 18Vdc to 32.4Vdc (24Vdc nominal) and 14.4-18Vdc for a maximum of 60 seconds. It has a rated current of 12A at 5Vdc from -25 to +45°C and 10A at 5Vdc from +45 to +60°C, with a derating of 1.25W from +60 to +70°C. The rated power is 60W at -25 to +45°C and 50W at -25 to +60°C, with an adjustable output voltage of 5Vdc to 5.5Vdc and a 250mV turn-ON overshoot. The hold time is 10ms at a 24Vdc input.
