Pilz PILZ-632221 is a safety light curtain designed for hand protection, detecting opaque objects as small as 30mm. This robust type emitter part operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +60°C and offers a protective height of 450mm. It features a 5-pin M12 connector for both the emitter and receiver, falling under the PSEN opII3H sub-range. With dimensions including a net height of 454mm, width of 35mm, and depth of 40mm, it is constructed from an aluminium housing, zinc end cap, and PC front screen, ensuring durability. The device operates on a supply voltage of 18-28.8Vdc (24Vdc nominal) and has a maximum power consumption of 1.5W for the emitter and 2.5W for the receiver without load. It supports a sensing distance from 0.2m to 18m with infrared LED light at an 850 nm wavelength. The safety light curtain is IP65 rated, indicating protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It allows for a maximum cable length of 50m and includes 2 x digital outputs (100mA) for the receiver OSSD outputs. The response time is 6.5ms with beam coding and 11.7ms without, and it can be stored in temperatures ranging from -25 to +70°C.
