Pilz PILZ-402231 is an electronic selector switch featuring an LED status indicator. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +60°C and has a net height of 55 mm. The design includes a key with digits and pictograms for machine tool applications, offering 3 operating modes and 0x1111 coding type with a battery-free transponder. It supports both plug-in/detachable spring-loaded and screw terminal connections. This selector switch is IP65 rated and requires a supply voltage of 20.4-26.4Vdc (24Vdc nominal) with a frequency of 125kHz for the passive transponder. The front housing is made of ABS material, and the bottom is ST/10μ Zn, accommodating a maximum cable length of 1000m and a stripping length of 9mm with spring-loaded terminal connection. Its net width and depth are 98 mm and 43 mm, respectively. The cross-section for screw terminal connections is 0.25...1.5mm2 / 28AWG...16AWG, and for spring-loaded connections, it is 0.2...2.5mm2 / 24AWG...12AWG. The sensing distance is 5mm, and it can be stored in temperatures ranging from -20 to +70°C. It features 13 x positive-switching 1-pole semiconductor outputs (24Vdc; 50mA; 9W) and 3 x digital inputs (24Vdc; 2mA). The protection functions include short-circuit proofing, with a response time of 20ms for supply interruption before de-energization, and various operating times for service and button activation. The rated impulse voltage is 0.8 kV, with a rated insulation voltage of 60 V. The time delay after supply voltage application is 1s.
